The Flight...

Hot air ballooning is a unique experience;
unhurried but nevertheless exciting.
The sensation is one of surprising calm in a huge empty sky.
Drifting with gentle winds you view the landscape from a new perspective. With a
bird's eye view observe the map-like layout of towns, villages and rolling
countryside. Wildlife, unaware of your presence, goes about its business below.
Majestic cloud formations, silvery mist and water sparkling in the sunlight
enhance the visual magic.

Each flight will last for approximately one hour over the
towns, villages and
rolling countryside of Northamptonshire, the East Midlands and the surrounding area, but you should
allow three hours for the whole trip.
After meeting your pilot at a pre-arranged location in Northampton or Milton Keynes you will be
taken to the launch site nearby where participation in the inflation procedure
is actively encouraged. It's an intriguing part of the ballooning experience
itself, an exciting introduction to the hot air principle.

Once airborne, the pilot uses his navigational skills and handling ability to
travel with the wind, to a suitable landing place. You will be amazed at the
huge vistas that appear - towns and villages previously familiar to the first
time flyer look very different. After the pilot has brought the balloon back to
earth, it is deflated and packed away by the crew with your help. The successful
flight is celebrated with the balloonist's traditional toast of chilled
champagne - compliments of The Ballooning Business.
